Film thickness gauge
Detailed description ofPurpose and application
Film thickness gauge used in the following two areas:
It can be used to measure metal foils, plastic films, cardboard, paper and sheet thickness.
The second and more important application for measuring thin coating thickness on the substrate.
If the substrate is non-metallic magnetic or electronic measuring methods cannot be applied. For non-destructive measurement, this instrument is the only possible difference method.
A particularly important application field of this instrument is: it can be used to scrub resistance of 'Leneta' film test. In line with Germany standard DIN 53 778 the second part covered and used for color measurement and color control card. Suitable instruments: micro-processor control coating and drying time of 509/MC, instrument scrub resistance 494# coating 288#, 358#, 360#, 411#, 421#, test card 451#, Luminance meter 517#.
Test principle
The thickness of the film by a rigid surface and measured between a punch that can raise the spring pressure can be read out directly on the dial readings.
Design and function
497-type film thickness gauge for a small, portable, high-accuracy measuring range.
It consists of measuring bracket with a support surface, punch, with zero-setting dial, Rod, hand and thumb pressure, bracket very high stiffness, thermal insulation between the dial and hands.
Instrument mounted on a plastic box.
Test procedure
Press thumb lever test head will lift samples in between the support surface and punch, punch down slowly, results from the reading on the scale.
