Isatis tinctoria is the root of cruciferae plants woad. Woad is a flowering plant in the family Brassicaceae. The florescence is in May, and the fruit period is in June. It is mainly distributed in Heilongjiang, Hebei, Henan, Jiangsu and Gansu provinces.
