The oocytes or OPU technique involves transvaginal recovery of the oocytes by aspiration of the ovarian follicles with the aid of an ultrasound probe fixed in a guide. S6 Touch GPS comes with a useful Ovum Pick-Up handle designed for bovine Ovum Pick-Up procedures, application including: Ovum Pick-Up (OPU) & abdominal work in other animals.mals.mals.

In farm the technique is used to increase the descent of selected donors for their genetic genes. The recovered oocytes of the donor cow are selected in the laboratory then fertil- ized in vitro with the semen of chosen bull. After maturation they are transferred into re- cipient cows or frozen and transfer later on.
BMV developed a special OPU guide and the image resolution of it allows to collect 2mm follicles and therefore to aspirate up to 30 follicles or more on the same cow.
