The 5 LED's in the middle display the time exactly to 10 minutes
The 9 LED's in the bottom show the time exactly to one minute.
Adding these two results to the exact time exactly to one minute.

Date mode:
The 12 top LED's display the current month and the two LED rows beneath show the day in the month.
The 3 bottom LED's will always display the current mode (Date; AM; PM).
