how to determine the power source current?

Usually the current of a cctv camera is 0.5A. consider the current consumption in the cable. you Need increase 40% base on the original.

for example:

4 cameras require supply current 0.5 * 4 * 1.4 = 2.8A, you should choice 3A.

6 cameras require supply current 0.5 * 6 * 1.4 = 4.2A, you should choice 5A

8 cameras require supply current 0.5 * 8 * 1.4 = 5.6A, you should choice 7A

1,we use dome camera 420 TV lines with 24 (0.5) LEDs IR illuminators. It is more expensive and better than camera with 12 LEDs
