Aluminium Sulphate |
CAS: 10043-01-3 |
Aluminum Sulfate –for paper making |
Molecular Formula: Al2 (SO4) 3 XH2O |
Properties: It is white or gray flake, particle or massive crystallization. Apt to cake after moisture absorption when laid in air for a long time. A little green because of Fe2+, yellow when Fe2+ is oxided to Fe3+. Soluble in water easily, and water solution is acid. |
Use: Used with saponified rosin as paper strength enhancing binder to improve waterproof property. Also can be used in printing and dyeing, leather, color agentia and wood trust proof. |
Packing: In 25kg or 50kg woven bags with inner film. |
Specification: |
Al2O3: 15.8% min. |
Fe: 0.3% max. |
Water insoluble: 0.1% max. |
PH (1% water solution) : 3 min. |

High-purity Aluminum Sulfate |
High-purity aluminum sulfate is a kind of white crystal whose specific gravity is 1.69. If open to the air for a long time, it might absorb moisture and have hard settings. Under 86.5℃, it will become dehydrated. It is soluble in water, acid and alkali, insoluble in alcohol. Its aqueous solution is acid. Hearted under 530℃, it will decompose. When the temperature increases to 860℃, it will end decomposing. The end product of decomposition if r-Al2O4. During the period of hydrolysis, high-purity aluminum sulfate will produce alkali salt and then aluminium hydroxide. |
Al2O3: 17% min. |
Fe: 0.003% max. |
Matter insoluble in water: 0.005% max. |
