Abstract

Andarine (GTx-007, S-4) is an investigational selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) developed by GTX, Inc for treatment of conditions such as muscle wasting, osteoporosis and benign prostatic hypertrophy,[1] using the non-steroidal androgen antagonist bicalutamide as a lead compound.

Andarine is an orally active partial agonist for androgen receptors. It is less potent in both anabolic and androgenic effects than other SARMs. In an animal model of benign prostatic hypertrophy, andarine was shown to reduce prostate weight with similar efficacy to finasteride, but without producing any reduction in muscle mass or anti-androgenic side effects.

This suggests that it is able to competitively block binding of dihydrotestosterone to its receptor targets in the prostate gland, but its partial agonist effects at androgen receptors prevent the side effects associated with the anti-androgenic drugs traditionally used for treatment of BPH.

A dosing protocol of 50-75mg for 4-8 weeks will give good recomp effects

Diet must also be optimized to where calories are just above maintenance with at least 30% coming from lean sources of protein to get the best recomp effect.

Of course, the recomp effects could be even greater if stacked or combined with a more anabolicSARM such as Ostarine.
A 50mg dosing protocol for 6-8 weeks is ideal for cutting purposes for the majority of users.

However due to the vision side effects, if running at these doses some like to follow a 5 on 2 off protocol where S4 is used for 5 days followed by a 2 day break (then this cycle is repeated).

How to use S4 safely
To negating any side effects, S-4 should be dosed at 5 days on 2 off at 50mg. If you go above 50mg you will lose some night vision if the quality of S4 you got is good. S-4 has a very short half life, 2.6 hours, so it would be perfect to use as a pulse, 3 times a week 2 hours before training should give excellent strength and hardening results. Both those protocols will reduce the yellow eye, and night vision problems. Remember, a PCT (post cycle therapy) should be always carried out after using S4.

If you want the effects faster, the recommended dosage for cutting is 50 mg for 6-8 weeks. It should be used every day then take 2 days off for the duration. Taking S-4 daily for the length of the cycle can lead to obvious changes by eyesight.
