Dibucaine Description:


Dibucaine is used to relieve pain and itching caused by conditions such as sunburn or other minor burns, insect bites or stings, poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, minor cuts, or scratches.
Dibucaine belongs to a group of medicines known as topical local anesthetics. Dibucaine deadens the nerve endings in the skin. Dibucaine does not cause unconsciousness as general anesthetics do when used for surgery.
Dibucaine is available without a prescription; however, your doctor may have special instructions on the proper use and dose for your medical problem. Dibucaine is used to treat symptoms of hemorrhoids or rectal irritation.Dibucaine is used to relieve the pain caused by sunburn and skin irritation.


How to Use Dibucaine?


Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Do not take by mouth. Dibucaine is for use only on the skin. Do not use Dibucaine on open wounds or on sunburned, windburned, dry, chapped, or irritated skin.Dibucaine is usually applied to the affected area 3 or 4 times daily. Follow the label directions about how much medicine to use and how often.
Before applying dibucaine, wash the skin with soap and water. Rinse thoroughly, and pat dry gently with a tissue or soft cloth.Apply enough of Dibucaine to cover the entire area to be treated.
